Nicki Chen

Nicki Chen is a focused musician with a history of accomplishments. She began her career early and has worked in recording settings in many different musical styles, as well as galleries that require strings.

As a student of Colburn, Pasadena conservatory of music, and CalArts, Nicki has a strong background in classical music with experience in chamber music and orchestra, as well as solo work. Improvisation in many different styles is also one of her passions. She works well with beginning students, starting with the suzuki method book. This helps them craft an understanding of music and their instrument for the first time. Intermediate to advanced students can also work with Nicki to refine their skills and further cultivate musicianship. She is qualified to teach classical styles as well as contemporary, pop, and improvisation. Nicki has an ability to identify every student’s innate abilities, and help them to draw from their own strengths. Her many years of experience, and passion for Viola/Violin ignites her. She wishes to share this same feeling with you.
