Clarice Kwan is a graduate from the USC Piano Performance program, Summa Cum Laude, who is currently pursuing her Masters at USC.

Beginning her piano studies at the age of five, Clarice has received various awards, including USC’s Town and Gown Honors Convocation Keyboard Studies Ensemble Award, first prize in the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC) Los Angeles County Branch Dozen Charitable Trust Fund Concerto Competition, and MTAC’s Piano Panel finalist. She has studied with USC Professors Bernadene Blaha and Kevin Fitz-Gerald since high school and has performed in masterclasses with James Bonn, Dr. Mark Sullivan, and Isata Kanneh-Mason. She has also participated in USC Thornton School of Music’s concerts as well as in various summer festivals, including International Institute for Young Musicians in Kansas, Amalfi Coast Music and Arts Festival in Italy, and Académie de Fourvière in France. Clarice has been featured as a piano soloist with the Azusa Pacific University Festival Orchestra and the Pasadena Summer Youth Chamber Orchestra, performing concertos by Mendelssohn and Mozart. Aside from piano, Clarice also plays the violin, most notably working with six-time Grammy artist Daniel Ho alongside members of the Arcadia High School Orchestra in 2016.

Clarice has mentored piano and violin students ranging from elementary to middle school, working with students privately as well as in a group setting. Since 2017, she has participated in USC’s Thornton Community Engagement Program (TCEP) where she accompanied and helped teach elementary choir students, learning to engage students through discovery learning. She believes in catering to her student’s learning styles in order to encourage creativity and freedom of expression through music. Performing and engaging with young musicians and seeing how enthusiastic they are about music has inspired Clarice to continue to share her love for music with others.
